Friends, I’m playing some SHOWS this month, shows in Austin, Lockhart, Corpus Christi and Port Aransas. I’m mixing my record in the 3rd week of July. A bit of activity after a couple of months of not playing out. Playing with Dawn & Dupree at Beerland was super fun. Below is the poster for a benefit in Corpus Christi that I’ll be playing; Funds will go to the South Texas Human Rights Center: the project is to build water stations to prevent migrant deaths.
I just wanted to briefly say that separating children and toddler aged kids from their parents is horrible. These fellow humans are migrating on trains, bus, and by foot, leaving horrible situations. I have to question the judgement of those who thought that separating children from their parents was a good idea. In my view, there are too many other options for the way to treat people who are running from persecution. I have nieces and nephews, and if I imagine them being detained without their parents, I feel sad and angry. May we live under laws that serve human kind, and use any power we have to reject any laws that we feel denigrate human kind.
